I did not go an read the whole posting of the other guy. But... gold is of course a commodity. You sounds like you think he is dissing gold by calling it a commodity.

Do you know the definition of a commodity?

It is a product which is indistinguishable by brand.

Do you care if you get your gold from California mines or South African mines? Do you care if it came out of the ground in '49 or if it was from ancient Lydia coinage?

Me neither. Hence it is a commodity. Like Wheat.
