Sorry kid. I was years ahead of you on that one. Quite a few people were. And we're still years ahead of you. You're just futzing around with mud huts.

Hmm... Were you now.. Ok..

But I know I've been concerned about the growing fanaticism of the Moslem Brotherhood since the late 80's...

This was a totally different context to Islamo-Fascism than the Iranian Islamic Republic...

There were a few journalists and analysts who inspired my interest, but the topic was by no means as widely acknowledged as it is today.

As for the 17,000 homicides, how come MSM isn't posting their names every night?

I'd guess that you can't even tell me what winning GWOT means. How will you know when you "win"?

It's a good question. And any answer will be subjective and dependent upon the perspective of each person.

My personal view is that it will be "won" when it's apparent that the ideology is firmly shoved to the extreme fringes of the political spectrum and not perceived as a viable alternative to other ideologies (namely democracy and accountable government elected by the people).

I dare say we'll never completely eliminate the threat of future serious terrorist attacks. But I would like the threat to be reduced to the point that it, once again, can reside within the jurisdiction of statuatory law enforcement, and not the Department of Defense.
