"WHAT ARE WE LIBERATING OURSELVES FROM...AND WHAT ARE WE THEN LEFT WiTH????"

Any form of coercion that would limit our ability or desire to pursue our noblest human nature is a violation of our liberty. I prefer not to get bogged down in specific examples because the list of ways to coerce a fellow into such an existence is unending. A common label for this experience is oppression.

If it were given that the world offered only a live and let live existence, there would be no purpose in such a position. It is more complicated than that, so we are left with purposeful choice. Human nobility is a choice founded on a regard for the common goodness in all of us, and it is the founding principle of a healthy society. Common goodness is a mutual regard for the well being of self and others. It allows for the freedom to be left alone to pursue one's dreams, while allowing one to encourage and even support another. It maintains the delicate balance between any responsibility for the care of one's fellows and the freedom from oppression by one's fellows that we should all seek individually and on behalf of one another.
