Kerry was in Cambodia, and on the Cambodian border Xmas eve 1968, proven by his diary entry for that date, incursions into Cambodia proven by logbook entires for January 1969. Nixon was already president-elect in 1968 and had made his Vietnam policies known. LBJ had stepped down. Kerry slightly exaggerated in that speech 15 years later but it was not a lie. He was in Cambodia or right on the border and Nixon was in.

In his entire 30 year career, this is the only instance where rightwing smear jockeys can find that Kerry exaggerated. Actually there's one other example. That is amazing honesty for a politician. Kery is as honest as they come.

If you want lies, look at Bush who lies all the time and just lied about Iraq today. Bush claims in his autobiography he was a jet fightter pilot willing to serve in Vietnam. That is a total lie. The evidence is here awolbush.com. Bush was grounded before he learned how to fly, skipped a mandatory drug test, went AOWL for 8 months then cut and ran to Harvard and lied about it all. Yeara later he had his records destroyed which is why there's an 8- month hole in his service record. He is also rumored to have been arrested for cocaine during that period. Maybe why they had to do such a cover-up.
