So long as America stands as an example of freedom to the world -- free from torture, free from arrest and detention without trial, free from wars based on lies and propaganda, free from acting on the impulse to invade resource rich countries for personal gain and economic domination -- so long as America is truly free it is an example we can all be proud of. But when America strays from the path of freedom as we have with the invasion of Iraq, then what we should be most proud of is the willingness of Americans to stand against immoral and corrupt behavior within America. I am proud of Americans for opposing this war that was wrongly thrust upon it by corrupt politicians and ideologues.
