I have a friend who had the same problem with E-Trash the other day. He had to literally sit on his broker there for a long time on the phone. They finally had to try routing the order to someone other that E-Trash's normal Market Maker - who may be shorting the companies in question. TDAmeritrade is being kind of an arsehole lately, attmepting to do a Hillary with some OTCBB and Pink stocks - preventing trading or allowing sells only. They apparently have some meddling jackarse in their management system trying to protect pro investors like me "..from ourselves..". That has gone over like a frozen condom in a Parisian house of ill repute, by the way..!!! John :-) .
