It is believed that OBL was unhappy with Zarqawi claiming himself to be AQ. Unlike what AQ normally does, Zarqawi and his folks were clumsy to the point of killing a lot more people from their own country than what OBL would call the enemy, i.e. the occupying forces. It is possible that whoever informed the US about Z's whereabouts might have done it at the behest of OBL.

Wheels within wheels within wheels. That is how a complex guerrilla warfare scenario will look like. You never know who is your enemy and who is your friend. Very unlike the simplistic scenarios of Dumbya and his fellow simpletons.
