SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The fictional made-for-TV movie "Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America" that aired on ABC Tuesday night is prompting criticism and clarification of what to expect should a pandemic arrive in the United States.
The federal government released a "Viewer's Guide" to debunk myths and stem any sense of panic that may arise from the TV drama's images.

The movie depicts a fast-moving pandemic that begins when a businessman contracts bird flu from a worker's cough while in Asia and then flies back to the U.S., according to ABC News' Web site. Scenes of an overwrought health-care system and shortages of food, water and medicine are meant to depict a worst-case scenario, it says
