George Bush? Your post is mostly supposition with the assumption of ulterior motive. Surely a wide-open Iraq, with rebuilding contracts for all coalition participants, would have benefitted France and Germany, at least, if not also Russia and China? And as for making assumptions about motives, let's not forget that there are French and German troops stationed in Afghanistan, alongside ours, to this day. - Allen
