Re: Decyphering the HTML (off topic)

The Wall Street Journal editorial writers are calling for the focus to move from the Vice Perpetrat -- er, President -- back to Mr. Clinton. Gore has emerged as a more interesting target, because of his presidential aspirations and the personal nature of his alleged transgressions.

A.G. Reno has, for now, decided not to follow John Mitchell's route to an obstruction of justice conviction.

I won't comment on the claims against the Prez, and I don't know what impact this will have on gold. However, U.S. political controversy is not welcome by the markets. I always get a laugh out of this: foreign pundits will sneer and cluck about how "Americans get all excited about things that are considered trivial in our country." But, as soon as the excitement begins, these same people will be lined up to dump U.S. debt and equities. "Hmmmmm" and "Geezeee." :-)
