Reagan "cut and ran" in Lebanon. Do you consider Reagan a coward? Many retreats and redeployments are the wise thing to do. If you read Sun Tzu you will learn that retreat is often the best move to make. If you are stuck in a quagmire especially, you have to get out. The Iraq occupation is degrading our military strength and financial resources by the day and not making us more safe. It's hugely costly and makes it so we won't be able to respond to any real threats out there, if they happen. Like what if China were to suddenly attack? We'd be bogged down in Iraqi and we'd be defeated. No joke. Remember it takes our military about 5-6 years to recover from these wars and to rebuild. And the longer we stay in Iraq the longer it will take to recover. Plus the entire cost of the war is all pure debt-spending.
