Bush has totally depleted our great military. We didn't even have any Guardsmen to secure New Orleans after the big flood. Plus Bush cut funding for the levees in 2003 to send the money to Iraq. Hundreds more Americans died as a result. We don't have enough Guardsmen to secure the Mexican border either. The 1000 who have arrived are really a pittance. Our military is completely overworked and exhausted, especially the SpecOps who do the specialized counter-terrorism work. They haven't had a break in five years. Also our gear is badly degraded. All those vehicles and planes in Iraq need bigtime maintenance overhauls. Many of them are ruined. Basically our military needs a big long break, especially if they're going to be ready in case of a real emergency. Iraq was not an emergency. It wasn't even necessary.
