Listening to Lou Dobbs this evening... Congress has given themselves a pay raise every year for umpteen years, and hasn't raised the minimum wage for 9 years. What say we pay these guys the "average US wage". They keep trumpeting their "public service", why not pay them what their constituents make? Maybe pay them the average for their state... and pay the President the average for the country. "No ups, no extras". As far as getting "qualified people" to run, I think we would be better off with a bunch of common sense workers than the elitist politicians. Sorry, just dreaming out loud. The special interests would NEVER stand for it. John
