Well then they aren't socialists are they? Greenpeace never claimed to be socialist anyway, people like you have labeled them socialst for no apparent reason. If you want to meet some real socialists go talk to any of the Republican or Democratic members of Congress who gladly forcibly collect American's money via compulsatory taxation (yes the Republicans do it too, they are now in control of the federal government and little has changed in this regard) and then spend the money on all sorts of social engineering projects from protecting the current oil supply industry to meddling with our schools. When someone forcible takes money from others and spends it how they see fit, they are a socialist, no matter what party label they wear.

Get over it. Energy is the biggest wealth creation mechanism in the world, wars are fought over energy resources and a trillions has been invested in extracting, distributing and using energy of all sorts. When the time comes to change to newer cleaner energy schemes like when global warming starts getting out of hand or we just run short on fossil fuels, there will be people who stand to make major fortunes, capitalists chomping at the bit to get rich off the new energy mediums. The next crop of mega-billionares are likely to be from the new energy companies. The market is huge, even if people would rather dwell on energy technologies that have their roots in the 19th and early 20th century, some of us see a cleaner greener energy future and all the money that will be made as it is implemented.
