As to Baker...nothing was behind his back. He had boasted that he monitored the posts of those he had unfairly banned in his childish pique (he did not use the word "unfairly", of course!).
This thread was set up expressly to discuss Baboons of Ban. It is not a double standard. The thread intent is to expose such miserable people and to have a little fun tracking their abuse of other posters.
Therefore, I would ask you to keep any comments about such petty little misfits in context and to ensure there is a general measure of truth to your comments. For instance, they are not a Baboon of Ban if they are not banning indiscriminately and with intent to stifle fair comment! Thanks!
Also, Baker does not receive the default respect reserved for other posters because as a Baboon of Ban he has unfairly attacked others in a petty and capricious manner and prevented them from responding. People thus mistreated by him are unable to respond on the public threads where he has cut off their tongue mid-sentence as it were. This thread gives people the opportunity to finish what they were saying before he (or any other) exercised a juvenile tyranny against them. It is not the same as deliberately posting lies about people on some obscure thread where the poster is assuming his slanders are unlikely to be reported to the slandered party. It is neither false nor unfair to call Baker a Baboon of Ban. You can read his threads and verify. He is not prevented from challenging the truth of these assertions. He has not defended them because there is really no legitimate defense against the charge.
When one makes extremely offensive remarks against people behind their backs on some obscure thread it is not the same as making true remarks about people on threads designed to showcase their particular attractions.
There are all sorts of threads on SI to deal with specific issues. There is, for instance, "Thread Morons". It is common practice there to give the nominated person a link. This cannot be done with Baker because he prevents communication. In any case, he has claimed to monitor all posters he has banned. I hope this helps you, Lorne.
