On the bright side, Bush's diplomatic and strategic failures virtually ensure that oil prices will remain high. As long as oil prices remain high, so will gas prices, and that will lead to a destruction of demand as people start to use alternative fuels and smaller cars. The more that happens, the less dependent we are on the oil barons.
