two greenblatt specials that are unique in that they don't happen often. greenblatt talked about stub stocks. Supervalue svu I think kind of fits the bill. they levered up to buy Albertsons. there was some discussion on this in Barron's over the weekend. The other is Alberto Culver acv. This looks like a way to get private equity like returns on one or maybe both of the pieces. A buyout firm is going to buy 46%, effective control of the spin-off. They are going to borrow $1.8b and dividend it out. I think this is going to create two leveraged pieces, one controlled buy the buyout firm. The details are yet to come out but worth watching imo.

regards
