Giuliani is very popular with non-Religious Right Republicans. He supports abortion rights so he's anathema to them. I like him. They also don't like him on the gay marriage issue, and in addition to that he supports gun control. I don't think he can win the Republican nomination opposing all three, and I really don't think he can gain support by backpedaling on any these issues (or that he would be very interested in backpedaling on this issues to gain support).
