Regarding the Century Mining Alaskan properties;
Hi John.
Thanx for the links,... but I do believe the company is guiding investors away from anything substantive for the Alaskan assets,... in fact, if you note in the recently published 2005 Annual Report, the company states, ... "Century is considering divestiture of the Juneau properties, which are currently available for option or joint venture."
Operations and underground development work at Val D'or, Quebec, and exploration and development work at the recently acquired San Juan Gold Mines in Peru including the prospects known as Golden Champune, Erika and Santa Clarita are going to provide the company with ample opportunities for exponential growth.
I had a chance to speak with representatives in the Alaska Exhibit at PDAC in Toronto back in March. One of the gentlemen had actually been involved with drilling the "AJ" property in Juneau some years back, with very decent results. However he also noted that there is a very strong "environmentalist" movement in Juneau which is quite opposed to any mining development in their "backyard". Might be good to keep some interest in these Alaskan properties,.... but I'm discounting any value in these for Century Mining at the moment.
I spoke with Tom at IR this past Friday again, and from the sounds of it, we should be expecting some updates, in the near future, from the current surface sampling program in Peru, and progress with regards to Lamaque underground development. We should also start hearing about the commissioning of the first of the 4 100 tonne trucks arriving shortly to the Sigma open pit operations. Sometime in mid - late July, we should get production results from Sigma as well. From earlier guidance provided at the AGM and from the conference call, we should be expecting at least 22,500 ounces of production in Q2 from Sigma. It could be somewhat higher too ? ;-)
Peggy did state at the AGM, that the company would be showing a net profit position for Q2
Just have to have a little more patience and let the company get a better handle on what they acquired in Peru. I'm of the opinion now, that CMM starts drilling one of the prospects in Peru much sooner than was initially expected ?? ;-)
In case you haven't seen this link .... this is the original spanish website of the San Juan Gold Mine .

Potentially 185 million tonnes of rock grading 1.5 - 3.0 gpt ?!?!?!?
Yeah ... OK ... so let's hit it with the drill bit. |
