Dale...I think MAJOR changes in our political spectrum only happen in the face of MAJOR changes in our everyday lives. It may take some catastrophic circumstance before the "average" American starts to actually pay attention to the substance and message of the political candidates that are vying for their vote. Everybody loved Hoover in 1928, but 3 years later he couldn't even move around "inside" the whitehouse without bodyguards.
