I can only ban persons. Unfortunately I can not delete posts. Admin Dave typically deletes posts only when they exceed the TOU by miles; still if you'd like to see a post deleted you can only get it done via this route. I consider banning more obstructive than deleting a single post.

Then there's the question of how it can determined objectively how hostile implied insults are compared to direct insults. Mani previously kept to banning direct insults only (e.g. "you are a moron") and I continued that line initially. I constructed the new off topic rule partially just to get an objective enough hold on implied insults. That is in addition to the main reason which is just to get a hold on the amount of OT's.

If we would like to ban persons that post implied insults as well how could this be done objectively? And are more rules really necessary in addition to the current rule initiated for this purpose by Mani?: I must get 5 unique (from different persons) "nomination" for suspension, within a 48 hour period, via private message. I then make a post for a vote and you have 48 hours to vote, via PM or email. It will take more than 50% for a suspension..

I have quite good hope that with the new rule implemented in addition to reinvoking the older ones the thread will be decent enough to cool down and keep to normal on topic investment related posts instead (thus refraining from using ANY kind of insult).
