KYOTO, Japan, June 22, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nidec Corporation (NYSE:NJ) announced today that at the 33rd Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on June 22, 2006, it obtained shareholders' approval on the appointment of the following members to the Board of Directors. In this connection, the Company also announced the creation of a new division responsible for planning and implementation of corporate acquisitions.

2. Establishment of New Unit
Following the election of Jyuntaro Fujii to the Company's Board of Directors, the Company duly established a new division ``Corporate Strategy Office.'' Headed by Fujii and staffed with seasoned experts on corporate acquisitions at home and abroad, the Corporate Strategy Office plans and executes mergers and acquisitions through a broad and comprehensive research on target companies. |
