Has it occurred to you that there are good reasons Ahmadinejad won the election? As in the public saw the ineffectiveness of the reformers?

Kinda hard to be "effective" when the State Securtiy apparatus, as well as the "Supreme Guide" are more effective at preventing the reformist movement from becoming a political threat, than the reformers are at achieving the political power necessary to implement the desired reforms.

Or perhaps they liked Ahmadinejad because he is a war hero and has an impeccable record of honesty?

Gosh.. so a "cult of personality" is a good thing? Do you REALLY BELIEVE that Ahmadinejad is "incorruptible"??

They guy who helped orchestrate the martyrdom operations OF CHILDREN and has formed the equivalent of the "Hitler Jugend" within Iran?

That's a positive thing?

Or that may be they figured it is best to have a unified government at a time of crisis rather than having too many in-fightings?

Ah yes.. the old argument that "order" is more important that freedom... Same thing Hitler argued and the German people accepted as necessary (even though it eventually led to the devastation of their country and the loss of 8 million German lives)..

So Ahmadinejad is a "good thing", right? And the control that the IRGC has over state security and the political process isn't to a large part RESPONSIBLE for the corruption that has transpired in Iran? They bear NO responsibility for creating the environment of corruption and non-accountability (via a free press and rule of law based upon the will and desire of the people and not just the power elite).

Be serious... You need to go back and read your "namesakes's" works as well as those Machiavelli...

Because the easiest means by which a totalitarian power can be enhanced and solidified, is by controlling the means of exposing your rivals corruption, while HIDING your own.
