Note the last sentence....11:40 NOVL Novell: Mgmt changes will be well received by investors- Suntrust (6.54 +0.54) -Update-

Suntrust notes this morning Novell announced significant changes in senior leadership. Jack Messman is stepping down immediately as CEO and Ron Hovsepian will take over that role and join the Board of Directors. In addition, CFO Joseph Tibbetts has left the co and an interim financial chief has been named, Dana Russell, who is currently VP of Finance and Controller. The firm believe these changes will be well received by increasingly frustrated investors. The firm notes on the 8:30 am conference call related to these changes, Ron Hovsepian indicated he would accelerate the co's growth strategies. This includes both organic and inorganic opportunities. The firm says Hovsepian is likely to try additional ways to accelerate growth in the co's Linux business, which appears to be lagging meaningfully behind its primary competitor, Red Hat, in terms of reported growth metrics. The firm likes the fact that Hovsepian articulated a specific, quick hit action to strengthen the Linux business around renewals.
