Andreas; I am not sure if any of the phone companies pay even a penny for the adsl modems. I am sure any of the vendors would be more than willing to provide them free of charge for the trials. And even if they would pay more it would be such a small fraction that it would not even worth mentioning. The phone companies were testing cap because it was ready and there were very powerfull allies. It is not clear to me which technology will be the winner yet but I am betting on dmt. After all you have to place your bets before the hand will open. -Albert
