I agree that "young black women" is too sweeping, but we were really talking about a specific segment.

I got off on a tangent from the discussion about gun control, saying that many gun death events involve both a shooter and a victim who are young black men from the "inner city" and that perhaps one way of breaking the cycle of violence is to somehow get rid of the "inner city" and that culture.

One of the points I raised was integrating the people into more functional communities at large rather than de facto segregation.

Another was teaching these young women to be feminists, not sex objects.

Your observation, that young women in college are all feminists whether they admit it or even realize it, confirms my belief in the value of feminism as part of an ethical framework.

I imagine that Oprah does more to raise their consciousness than anybody else ever will, if they watch her.
