Craig, TXN is probably due for a pullback regardless of the MU earnings shortfall. TXN is a very volatile stock. You can make money with your short, but I would cover before too long. The stock will probably start to run up before earnings are announced. TXN's earnings will be hurt by the low DRAM prices, but will probably still beat consensus estimates.
