An additional concern of mine is that third-party vendors, those that will build ADSL into their products that build the Internet infrastructure, will find DMT too costly. Remember that those vendors need to make a profit too. Everybody adds margin to product. If DMT is too costly, it will not be implemented. If it takes too long to bring costs down, vendors will not have the cycle time available to build product. No vendor is going to build a product if they feel RBOCs will not deploy because it is too costly.

Bell Atlantic is currently conducting trials with CAP modems from Westell. They have constantly pushed for CAP. Therefore, I believe Westell will be a huge beneficiary of BA's ultimate deployment decision.
