I would agree with you that this lastest revelation on WMD is not news as it has been reported of finding old chemical shells peridically. The last report I remember was 13 total so over 500 is quite an increase but it has been in the 2 to 3 at a time rate.
The more interesting question is what happened to all the WMD found by the UN in 1997 after Saddam's son in law defection. This includes VX. The UN report inventories this stuff and says after being kicked out that it still exists although UN was supposed to have destroyed some. This UN report seems neglected by the press. The ISG reports seem to concentrate on the WMD existing at 1991 and indicates they couldn't find it . These reports seem incompatible with the UN report which had a 1998 time line. Frankly I have seen no reports of the 1998 inventory being destroyed based on records, forensic evidence or people's statements. I have seen circumstantial evidence ofit being moved by trucks to Syria and by the Russians to Russia. And we have the attempted attack on Jordon from Syria which could have come from the Iraq WMD moved to Syria. All confusing to me. Someday the facts will come out and Bush will be vindicated.
