That's funny, because I haven't been able to find one quote from 1998 from Clinton or anybody else, including Republicans, saying that Saddam was such an imminent threat that we needed to invade immediately. I know there was widespread belief that the man might have retained some WMD despite the sanctions, but there are matters of degree here.

Add to that the fact that we knew MORE by the end of 2002 and early 2003 than we knew in 1998, and that most of what we knew seemed to indicate that WMD in Iraq were scarce at best because the evidence was shaky.

You can't seriously look at Colin Powell's presentation to the Security Council and not see the manipulation and deception. "A vial this size filled with anthrax ..."

Please.
