Here's the link to the Jamestown Foundation but no link to that story pops up on cursory observation. jamestown.org Not that I'm doubting Scheuer wrote it. I am familiar with Scheuer's writings and have no reason to dispute anything he says, factually. OTOH, he's been out of the CIA for a while now, so probably no longer has the inside scoop. Treating him as a pundit, there's an inherent flaw in the argument -- let's agree that attacking Al Qaeda and other terrorists is a great way of recruiting new terrorists -- if we didn't attack Al Qaeda and other terrorists, would they go away?
