I think most of us here would agree on most issues- the things that get discussed here most though are the issues on the margins, that are divisive. It helps to try to remember that most of us here mostly agree, and live (I would think) pretty similar lives, because it keeps us all from falling in to the "it's us versus them" way of thinking- about folks who really aren't "them".

I may argue one idea to death, that's just my way, but I try to remember we're all much more alike here than we are different.
