On a little different note, I just had a call from my Doc, who is a personal friend as well. After years of knowing her, it's the first time I've ever heard her swear..... She too, is of the opinion that so many people "just don't get it." She is a past President of one of her State Associations...She said even they, as a group, should understand the situation. Many don't, it appears. If they don't care enough to be prepared, what would make any of us think that our First Response teams, including Doctors, will be prepared for any type of disaster. ?????
Instead, if there is any type of disaster in your area, people that are able, might be able to climb to the top of the rubble, shake their fists to the sky, aka Ray Nagin, and demand "Where is someone to help us????"
