That's thought provoking. Do the disadvantages outway the advantages? And if they do, is it inevitable in modern society or is there a societal fix to it?

Suppose after high school there was an "educational" requirement for national service of some sort before proceding with higher education? Would that result in forcing maturation? That may have it's own disadvantage.

His theory is complimentary with the notion I've had that humanity hasn't evolved enough to properly manage technology. It's always been a bad idea to let children play with matches. Now we have big "children" playing with nuclear inventories.
