....Forgot I hadn't eaten lunch....

"the Phelps Baptist Church doesn't represent Christians" is accurate. What more would you want him to say? May he could say Phelps is nuts:

Better, but still falls short. It's not important that the Phelps family is "nuts". It's why they're nuts. Are they nuts because they interferred with Falwell's collection scheme, are they nuts because of their protest at cemeteries; or are they nuts because of the hateful, non-Christian message they preach. The "why" is far more important than the insult.

If you and I were to agree that it's "obvious" why they are nuts, there are still plenty of people wandering around quoting Leviticus and what should be done to the homosexuals. Falwell speaks out of one side of his mouth when he says God loves homosexuals and speaks out of the other side of his mouth when he speaks of banning gay marriage.

It runs along the lines of other "condemnations" I've heard. What the Phelps did was "inappropriate." Bleching in public is inappropriate. Hateful bigoted language deserves something stronger.

As I recall they do report such things [stupid things Robertson said]. I happened to be watching the other night and they had a panel with two liberals from NPR on it -

I guess you want to insist that only liberals are inclined to expose the nutty things that Robertson and Phelps say. Ok. If you say so. My compliments to the liberals for exposing the nuts. My sympathies to the conservatives that prefer to keep quiet on them.

I happened to be watching the other night and they had a panel with two liberals from NPR on it - Juan Williams and Mara L-something. IOW the fair and balanced claim is pretty accurate.

I've never watched Fox long enough to assess whether it's fair and balanced; it doesn't take long to figure out their news coverage is insulting to anyone with more than a 3rd grade education. Commentary accompanied with loud screaming doesn't do it for me.

I understand the Fox gave continued coverage on the missing Holloway girl beyond what othter news media channels did. An important conservative issue no doubt.

I see Charles Krauthamer [sp?] on a regular basis on the liberal media. I guess Charles is a liberal.
