A group of us loves playing network real-time strategy games and we like you have waited for a long time for Dark Reign. I had high expectations for this game. I have played it the last two nights. The first night, we were all disappointed. Second night, we started to enjoy it. We plan on playing some more in the next few nights.

I own Feb calls of ATVI and Dark Reign was one the games that I was counting on to provide big profits for Activision. After playing for two nights, I feel that is significantly better than Command and Conquer (including Red Alert) but WarCraft II is still the best real-time strategy game. Dark Reign has some performance degradition as more things are happenning and the units are not as animated. It does have some cool units and robust combat strategies.

I have also tried Eidos' Conquest Earth and after seeing for 10 minutes, we concluded that it sucks! We are going to try out GT Interactive's Total Annihalation this week. By this Christmas, the top real-time strategy game will probably be Blizzard's StarCraft. Blizzard is the king of real-time and role-playing strategy games.
