Buffett is many things. He is a brilliant investor. After all how many people would have had the guts to destroy a company for their own financial gain like he did when he dismantled Fairmont Foods and caused the unemployment of many people? He is a lifelong liberal. Many people in his home town still resent his meddling with a fine Country Club decades ago; some blame him for "ruining" it. He is a massive consumer of energy as he flies from place to place in his private jets. He is full of advice for others to follow, he just doesn't feel compelled to follow his own advice. You can spin, but you cannot deny he is hypocritical on the Death Tax for others stand.

"You, on the other hand, are probably coming from a belief that you don't owe anyone anything,"

You will probably understand after reading these why that is an somewhat off the mark:

"keep everything for yourself and a few select members of your inner circle"

If by select member of my inner circle you mean anyone who is willing to work to support themselves you are correct. Somehow reading that into your post seems to be a stretch.
