I did. Thanks for calling my attention to them.

I focused on Murtha only because, although you said "EVERY person who lied about the Marines 'killing in cold blood'," I couldn't find any report of anyone other than Murtha saying that, let alone 20 of them.

I don't see anything wrong with any media outlet reporting a quote from Murtha regardless of the accuracy of his claim. That's what media are supposed to do, I think. His claim is news. As long as they get the quote right, I don't see how or why you would "hold them to account."

The underlying event is also news. Reports of the other 20 making the same claim might be news, too, depending on who they were, what prominence or authority they might have. But I can't find them or references to them other than yours so I can't say for sure.
