BB's comparison of higher oil prices as simply a tax on consumers is wrong. Higher energy prices also affect manufacturing and the transportation sector in an inflationary way, which a tax does not.
I will share with the readers that I recently received a letter from my former employer, a major multinational chemical company, expressing concern over natural gas supplies. Now a shortage of gas will cause the prices to go up, i.e. inflation will occur. But BB doesn't even mention this source of inflation. Hard to understand.
