What does that have to do with the flag burning ammendment? The United States has been a free country for 230 years without a flag burning ammendment. Almost every other country in the world has not enjoyed such freedom to desecrate their own flag, and in many facist and totalitarian regimes like NAZI Germany and Communist Soviet Union a citizen could be killed on the spot for protesting the government by burning a flag. Why would we want to trade in our free traditions that have lasted more than two centuries for a less free way like totalitarianism?
