Tom, we have mortgage rates pushing 7%! I figure anything below 7 is a gift. 5% was a gift. 6% was a gift. 7% is normal, 8% takes out a lot of people and sure cools speculation and 9%+ makes real estate speculation all but impossible. We are seeing th effects up here. A lot of people do not know how much difference 2% points makes in being able to qualify to a home. You and I know it is huge! Good article on mortgage companies. It seems like everything is on the verge of collapse. What does Bernanke do in this situation? He has no way out that I can see.
