Family grieves for B.C. girl, 16, killed in another teen's suicide

VANCOUVER -- The body of a teenage girl killed in a bizarre weekend shooting in Montana was returned home to Fernie yesterday.
Lorena Mocko, 16, was killed early Saturday when another teen shot himself with a .41 magnum. The bullet travelled through the boy's head and then struck the girl in the chest.
Both teens were at a house party in Eureka, Mont., when friends called the authorities to report the shooting.
Police arrived at around 1 a.m. and found Jacob Randal Lee, 19, dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Ms. Mocko was rushed to hospital, but she died en route.
"We lost the best thing that we ever had," a woman, who identified herself as Ms. Mocko's grandmother said yesterday from Fernie. |
