JF, People are starting to make the connection that the tax cuts are not free... they are coming out of real peoples pockets.

Nothing in life is "free." Not tax cuts, not the war in Iraq, not Social Security or Medicare, not even the universal health care that you are advocating.

By the way, a couple of "nuances" you might have missed:

- "most of which will go back to the richest Americans in tax breaks" ... Congress already cut taxes years ago, and it's arguably helping the economy. Unless Congress is going to cut taxes again in conjunction with the cuts to federal assistance programs, I don't see that statement as being meaningful.

- "Congress dramatically boosted interest rates on loans." ... This after the interest rates were at all-time lows. That's why I keep my college loan around; the interest rate on it is so low that it would cost me more to refinance it into home equity.
