Earl, You quit just as I was beginning a second career in the brokerage business. I had been a college prof. for 20 years before that. But, boy did I get a real education in the years 1980-1990! I started my fee based advising in 1990 and still do it on a small scale. As for 10 k's etc. I really do not know. I am now a plaintiff in two class action suits regarding mistatements of fact that led to big losses. The defendants have settled; so, I will get a bit back sometime during my lifetime...maybe. As for further reading, you might look at the Motley Fool's Guide to Investing by the Gardner brothers. They have a wildly popular web site,newsletter and books. They are really value investors and have a lot of good, if not new, ideas. Hope that helps. Bob
