I understood it the way that they want to deflate the oil/gold/asset bubble...as a side effect, this will support financing the trade deficit and contain consumer and producer prices.

Seems almost a good thing to have some not to necessary bubble at hand <g>. I think the stock market will move some 5 - 10% up before it goes down next time....
