Things got emotional Monday when Republican gubernatorial candidate Jim Bryson shared his plans on how he would address illegal immigration.

Bryson joined the family of victims of a deadly crash allegedly caused by an illegal immigrant earlier this month. They discussed new state laws pertaining to illegal immigration.

One of the victim's daughters asked the governor to support legislation removing criminal illegal immigrants from society.

Governor Bredesen campaign spokesman, Will Pinkston issued a statement. Pinkston says Jim Bryson is trying to exploit what is obviously a tragic situation. The answer to illegal immigration is not shifting the cost of federal enforcement to state and local taxpayers. The answer is for the federal government to do its job.
