As I mentioned before, while Congress can give the President authorization to go to war, they cannot give him powers that are not theirs to give, i.e. a blank check to disregard the Constitution as he deems fit. The Supreme Court finally had the balls to say that explicitly. Only took them five years of letting all the dubious actions and programs pile up. We do not live in a country where Uncle George and Big Brother Dick get to sit down behind closed doors and decide unilaterally what they will do to our lives to "protect us".
