Probably most non-investors are completely oblivious to the rate of inflation, real or perceived, since it's not currently that painful for them. Other than gasoline and heating fuel, which most attribute to foreign policy rather than economics, most seem not to notice. It will take rates like those experienced around the time of the Carter administration for the general population to feel any pain.
