My axiom, as I have stated, is cause and effect.

That has a lot to do with not changing the past, but it also means that cause and effect have to have a connection, even if that connection is rather bizzare such as uncertain particles. Whenever I see a theory that says there can be an effect which is not informationally linked to the cause I can reject it out of first principals (the axiom).

( there can however be an effect for which there is no cause, a random effect) This is essentially where something like an idea or mutation would spring from "nothing".
