You keep trying to say it is equivilent to other things which it is not. To begin with, you seem to be implying that proof is something beyond what it is. I'll try to use the venacular again (although that always gets me misunderstood).

I might say that we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the universe had a beginning. That doesn't mean that it's inconcievable that there is another explanation, only that we are very very very certain. That is what is meant by proof.

The actual information that defined the state of the universe at the instant of the big bang is gone (at least it's gone from our universe). The universe can't be big enough to hold itself and a copy of it's prior information. You might say that what we have left is copies of copies of that information passed down for tens of billions of years.
